So up until about 6 months ago (so the past 12 years or so) I've only ridden SS or fixed, this is my first aluminum bike though and it came with a carbon fork and Chris King head set …I've gotten into riding more trails lately but would like to build this up as my primary bikepacking rig.

Do I upgrade (downgrade?) to a suspension fork? Keep the carbon fork and just send her? Get a Streisland or surly rigid fork?

I don't mind saying I paid $450 total and it seems to only have scratches from being moved around. It also came with some carbon corner bars I'll likely throw on.

Just ride it and get some miles on it. Then start changing what you don’t like

you got a good deal, those forks aren’t the most supple but they are pretty durable and accurate. It doesn’t look like you could get much travel without hitting the down tube anyway
