Nine moths ago, I sold a AllTrail 8 ebike to a guy. Still with warranty left. He bought it, never heard from him untill yesterday. He says that the Haibike AllTrail 8 is most certainly a womans ebike, because the frame is a littlebit smaller than for example an AllTrail 4.
I never stated anything other than that the bike was a bit to big for me, and that I bought it from another guy. He expects me to cover at least 50% of the total resale value-loss, because he states the bike is made for women. I wont pay him, but I am curious if his statements are true??

  1. Which statement? That it’s a women’s bike or that you’re responsible for his financial problems?

    Neither is true.

  2. I sold a bike to someone once and he crashed it and called me for a refund. I wish I was joking.

  3. 51% of the Earth’s population is women so he has a bigger market he can resell to! profit!

There’s is a legal framework for such cases and basically it all revolves around you telling the purchaser to go fuck themselves.

Well at least in germany, when buying from private it is “bought as seen”. So as long as you weren’t lying about things like the bike being crash-free or anything, that guy has no chance to get anything from you. It does not even say womans bike on the manufacturers product page? Fuck that guy

I sold my mountain bike to a “friend” who kept bitching, when he got a great deal. Eventually he disappeared.
