  1. Sounds like dirt/debris/corrosion in the headset or the headset is super dry needs a cleaning and relube or there’s not enough preload and thats some very loud play in the headset – need to take it apart to really see whats going on

    If it’s not cables, then it’s the bearings inside need new grease. Or could need new bearings, but most riders don’t ride like that. Take apart and grease it up. See if it fixes it.

    Really like dry clicking and is consistent with turning so bearing or housing issue

    It’s probably either the cables or the headset. I’d consider it time to start replacing cables and if removing cables one by one you should check to see if the noise stops. When reinstalling the cables I’d add some chain wax to where they meet the cable stops.
