A bit more context:
My chainstay cracked after 1 year of riding (~850 miles).
Canyon wanted the frame to be cut in order to process the refund.
Canyon only refunded frame, fork and seat post.
Bottom line: thinking of getting a Canyon? Think again.

Don’t they allow some funds to pay a shop to rebuild it for you? My experience with canyon has been great. A close friend has broken two (separate) mtbs and his experience has been great too.
u/ProtonKal1en what frame (more specifically which colour) did they replace it with?

What am I missing here? When my 2 year old Grail CF SLX cracked I sent photos to Canyon, Canyon said send us the bike. I got a new frame with my original fork and group set. They swapped out all of my components on a new frame.
Edit: the hardest part was finding a used cardboard bike box to ship it to them.
Edit: OK, OP says that Canyon didn’t have a like for like frame.

How? These ruptures look really clean though
