I see all sizes 53mm, 51mm 55mm like what is all this and what is a gooseneck? Does that have to be used with a quill and can I even use a Threadless headset like a gooseneck with just an integrated headset no conversion? Or do I just need to stick to a top load larger size 48mm plus and stop over thinking it? I been waiting to buy this stuff online all day just debating… so Any help would be appreciated thanks 🙏

Edit the headset is a fitbikeco integrated headset (blood red) if that makes a difference idk I understand the conversion just fine but I’m confused about how to do these as far as sizes fit together. It’s not cone shaped it’s just one of the straight ones with a larger bottom and smaller top like the picture in the link below current headset

This is a thread less headset, so no you’re not using a “gooseneck” stem. Gooseneck stems are used with threaded forks where the threaded headset holds the fork and bearings in place on the frame. You will need a 1 1/8 stem which clamps on the fork. I’m sure there’s a video on that somewhere.
Your stem matches your fork. The headset matches the frame. If you are not sure perhaps see your local bike shop to help you with measurements. You’re going to need to know what came out of the frame to fit the proper diameter.
Ok first things first. What frame are you riding? Is it a bmx frame for integrated headsets? If so pretty much any modern bmx fork,stem,headset are going to be 1 1/8. As far as the 55mm and 45mm numbers are referring to reach (distance from center of bar mount to center of fork mount) if that makes sense. Any other “mm” number would be rise and that would be much smaller than 45mm
