Apologies if this is a basic question. I’m new to biking and unfamiliar with the terminology, so I’m having trouble finding an answer online.
The chain recently fell off the rear wheel of my C Line Explore 6-speed Brompton. I reattached it to the smaller of the two cogs (sprockets?) on the rear wheel. Is this correct? What is the reason there are 2 cogs?

Put it on either cog and pedal. Worst case it will correct itself.
