Four like minded Brompton riders take a 40k trip around London, taking in the sights of the city and learning a bit about capital during the journey.

[Music] Bon’s packed Frosty all day too car parked looks like we’re walking from here yeah I’m okay just REO reboot we’re off to London oh my God to shoes doesn’t look like it’s got a g [Music] Carriage that is the Tower of [Music] London I as you can see we’re here we’re getting ready and I think we’re going to go to Westminster bridge and take it from [Music] [Music] there [Music] War [Music] [Music] [Music] now [Music] he [Music] he [Music] he [Music] [Music] [Music] this is the Anchor Pub on Bank side it’s been here in various guises since the early 1600s some guides will say it was destroyed during the Great Fire of London but that is impossible as the fire never made it across the river in fact I’m pretty sure that Samuel peeps wrote about the Great Fire of London in this very establishment now you may have noticed we passed a pick of Shakespeare on the wall on the left hand side some will say that he also drank in the anchor but that would have been decades before peeps so if he was attending the anchor when it first opened he wasn’t drinking the reason being it wasn’t a pub then he used to be used by the ladies of the night who were actually licensed to trade and if you don’t know what a lady of the night is look it up you may have also seen the clink prison museum on our right it is said to be the first prison owned by the bishop of Winchester in fact he owns quite a few properties around here including Winchester Palace the remains of which we stopped to look at here now I’m not sure if the clink was actually in that particular building but the first prison was certainly within this area from around the 1100s it’s impressive is it here is the Golden Hind now don’t get too excited it’s not the original if I remember correctly it was was built in the 1970s but it has sailed around the world possibly following Captain Drake’s original route who knows what I do know is it’s been docked here in sodc since the 1990s we popped through Cathedral Street to borrow market now don’t be F by the empty streets this place is packed when the market is open it is also buzzing in the evenings too with great bars restaurants and venues to visit I highly recommend to visit at any time of the day as bankid and burah are our favorite parts of London whilst we make our way towards tower bridge I will take this opportunity to plug a great tour guide here in London apart from my limited recollection from school and the info I get from the occasional book most of my stories come from Dr Stephen King no not that one this one is a great tour guide and we’ve been on a couple of his tours around the capital I have to say he’s very personable extremely knowledgeable very engaging and a great guy to spend a few hours with you can find him at Steve does tours right plug over here we are approaching City Hall around this city you’ll find quirky animal sculptures created by jilli and Mark who to date have raised over £800,000 towards animal conservation we passed the scoop which is a modern Twist on an Amphitheater it’s used to show films Productions and on a barmy summer’s evening we even watch Wimbledon on the big screen while surrounded by popup bars as we pass harridge we find ourselves in Shad TS in particular around Butler’s Warf as the title would suggest this used to be a warehouse area used by the ships and vessels that used the temps these days the buildings are occupied by Boutique shops restaurants and bars and if you’re wealthy places of residence too it’s a lovely area to be in but it really isn’t that comfortable if you riding a bike we continue through Burmy passing a couple of keys on Route we also stop off in Deford to see the fencing that was made up from stretches during the second world war we even took a chance to pop down to the foreshore to see if we could see the cuty Sark in the distance trust me it’s there anyway time to get moving yeah you [Music] [Music] want want to run in the mountain you want almost got [Music] [Music] there yeah no you no [Music] what [Music] [Music] ground floor yeah do open not the Dos look at that that’s nice isn’t it this [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] I [Music] yeah they’re cool AR [Music] they [Music] [Music] that’s [Music] [Music] h [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] right GoPro run out but we made it foreing the next station is monuments change for the central Northern and waterl city lines and DLR from Bank find the gap between the train and the [Music] platform

  1. Great fun! Really enjoyed whizzing around London with you and no effort needed on my part… Some interesting facts about the Great Fire of London I never knew. Epic view of St Pauls as you went up Cannon Street. Were you riding 3 or 6 speed Bromptons? Brompton should sponsor you for that video. Hope the pizza was good.
