    Hi Everyone,

I’m new to the bike community. I purchased this Fuji Feather 56CM bike used, someone told me that my tires need to be replaced, but I see skinny tires like this all the time and I don’t really see the difference with mine and a new one. Anyway, I would like to replace the tires if my tires need to be replaced/upgraded. I have 3 questions, please see below.

    1. What type of tires can I put on the Fuji Feather?
    2. Can I go by the size of this tire (700×25) and find different tires, but for different purpose/more grip?
    3. Any recommendations of the best tires to use for this bike?

    Thank you!

Check for tread wear indicators. If you can’t find any, you probably need new tires.

I’m assuming those are 700c wheels but you need to know the rim width to determine the range of tire width that’s compatible. You can just stick to 700c x 25 to play it safe. I like 25’s. I bike commute every day and haven’t gotten a flat since I put on Armadillo Elites last fall.

Thank you! u/whatkylewhat & u/wallonthefloor, I checked for the tread, but couldn’t find anything… maybe I just don’t know what the indicator actually is. In regards to the rim, I tried looking and I couldn’t find any information. I did see other numbers on the tire itself which said 25-622 (700x25c). I’m trying to add a picture to this comment, but I don’t see an option.

  4. Those tires appear in pretty good shape to me unless there’s punctures or tears I can’t spot from the pics. Maybe whoever told you that is used to seeing tires with knobbier tread 🤷🏽‍♂️.

If you check the manufacturer’s site or even just Reddit tbh you should be able to find out the tire range you can fit on this frame and wheel set. Most people with this bike will likely stick with 700 x 23/25/28.

If you’re set on getting nicer tires anyway, I’d recommend Continental’s GP 4 Seasons.

Depends on what you are after. GP5000 is nice if you want a rolling tire and more ride comfort. Schwalbe Marathon plus is better if you just want to ride your bike without worrying too much about puncutres and want them to last long in use.
