I used to bike on that street every day for 3 years. Just moved away a year ago. So glad these bike lanes are finally up!

In my city, Seattle, people were pointing at non-clogged/jammed bike lanes as proof they’re not being used.
Bitch, thats just a sign of how efficient they are. They ARE being used (we have a counter on the Fremont bridge) and they’re cheaper per mile to construct and maintain than a road or interstate for cars.

I live on Bloor Street, about 2 km east of that photo. Those lanes actually go right past my front door. I commute along Bloor every day. The opposition to those lanes is incredible. You wouldn’t know it from the photo, but it’s an affluent semi-suburban neighbourhood filled with car-addicted older folk who don’t give a crap that the streets are now safer for pedestrians and cyclists. All they care about is that it takes them 2 minutes longer to get to where they’re going, and they lost their parking spot in front of the take-out restaurant.

You mean that cycle lane that would have cars parked in it if it wasn’t there?
Sure snowflake

But and I say this as a dog owner. How come nobody complains about funds spent on dog parks/infrastructure, animal control. I always ask people when was the last time a cyclist delayed you for more than 15 seconds? They generally sputter and move on.

Ya he should trade his Lexus for a Trek to help with congestion.

Solution is simple, remove the commuters in cars.
