Was riding without brakes the past week since i changed handlebars and the lever didn’t fit (already ordered the correct ones) and everything was going fine i saw no difference since i mostly use backpedaling to stop anyways, so i go on my morning commute to work everything was going fine, i get to the only hill i need to descend and when cars are stopped at the red light on the top the road is clear and thats usually when i go down, next thing i know my chain falls off while cooking it down this hill and thank god for reaction time cause i was able to stop with jamming my foot on the back wheel, if the road wasn’t clear and a random car came by i would be in the er right now, so yeah umm fuck not having brakes…get brakes…don’t be like me

Almost died once in a similar situation and now I prefer having multiple methods to stop as an insurance.
Glad you’re okay and are going to put brakes on, but you gotta add some toe cages and straps on those pedals too! 🙏
not a expert, but does that mean the chain was too loose? feel like chains shouldn’t do that lol
i wish not everyone needed *an experience* before deciding on life/death situations
Alternatively, if riding brakeless make sure you use foot retention, check your tires and your chain tension. These are exponentially more important when you remove the brake.
The ted shred stop is a must have emergency manouver to learn!
