So, since you’ve provided almost no information about this build, I’ve done some guesswork, bear with me.

I believe this is a 12 speed Chorus group set. On its own, it will likely fetch between $800 and $1000. Those wheels are quality, but dated. I’d put the value around $300 tops. The frame, which I’m thinking is likely at least 20 years old, is probably worth between $500-$1000. This one is tricky, not many of these hit the market, but that is about what a used Light Speed like this will go for, I’m not sure how the Merckx moniker effects value here, but its for sure a plus. Absolute max on the frame is probably like $1200, but you’d really need to find the right buyer.

So, where does that leave us with the sum of parts? $1600-$2500.

I’d say that is about right, but for sure on the high end. I think you’d be very lucky to get $2000 for it right now. Unfortunately, there are not many people in the market for a rim brake, Ti, campy bike right now. However, those that are in the market for something like that are willing to shell out for it.

*If* you can find a buyer, I don’t think you’ll have much trouble getting this sold within the range I’ve given, but you will have trouble finding a buyer.

If this were a normal, say steel, alloy, or carbon rim brake bike of the same age without the Merckx name attached to it, I’d say this is a $1000 bike tops.

What did you pay for it? If you didn’t own it long then I’d just sale it at the same price you paid and hope to break even. If it’s a custom build, I’d probably get a better fitting frame and just move everything over and sell the frame by itself.

Otherwise, it gets complicated. Need to evaluate what’s still like-new, what is due for replacement, how much wear and tear on everything, start breaking down the cost based on current market value of individual components, etc.

If nothing needs replaced and has plenty of life, I’d think somewhere in the $1500 to $2000 area but that’s a quick guess without actually crunching numbers. I have a Schwinn Paramount, Reynolds 853, Campy build and wheels and if I wanted to sell that but not at a loss I’d be looking at $1200 but being honest, I wouldn’t get my investment back and would be lucky to get $800 as bikes have moved to newer standards, disc brakes, thru axles, etc. So both your bike and mine are clearly in a vintage category now.. and while interesting, not necessarily collectable to the average rider.
