The right side of the saddle sits a lot lower than the left side. As a result my pedal stroke is a bit off and I don't want to contribute any further to any possible postural imbalances.

I rode the brooks for quite a while and didn't realise you needed to tension the bolt, which caused one side to sag a lot more than the other.

Second issue is all the rivets have rusted and chipped, see image 6. Would this be an issue?

I am considering buying another b17 and starting from scratch. What do you think?

  1. I would start from scratch consider it a lesson learned. Samething happened to me.

  2. I would use this opportunity to buy a Gilles Berthoud saddle. It’s a much higher quality saddle ( I own three Brooks saddles) with replaceable components, including the leather.
