Personally, I advise 52×17 as there’s 17 skid patches, and It wouldn’t feel much differently to ride from what you’re running right now.
Naturally, it’s less cost efficient as chainrings are more expensive than changing the back cog.
If you’d want to go with a higher gear ratio and less money, I’d propose a 51×16, which gives you 16 skid patches.
