You need to watch out for heel strike and if the bottle mount rotates and ends up in your spokes you’re going to have a very bad day.

Do you have eyelets for fenders and a mounting point in the seatstay bridge? If so, get a Focus Adventure Rack and strap whatever you want to it. It’s a bad idea to clamp something to the seat stays and bottles WILL rotate themselves into the wheel.

Under the down tube and on the fork is my go to. Large Nalgene, 48oz, plus a normal.
