Cake electric bikes from Sweden are some of the most beautifully designed and functional electric bikes. These bikes are lightweight, very very functional and can be used in many different ways. While not many people talked about it, the Cake electric bikes had to be some of the best bikes at the 2023 Auto Expo. still here at the auto Expo guys and I was just walking around looking at all these electric bikes and three wheelers and scooters and then I stumbled on this stall and the first look I had at this stall I knew that this had to come somewhere from Scandinavia because a clean design the color scheme the logo itself and just look at the style design itself it’s very minimalistic signature Scandinavian and of course this is Swedish so I looked at it and I got interested I came here and I saw these products and they may not look like much but they are really beautiful the quality is Top Notch just look at the chassis the way it’s finished the materials the finish and everything and it’s not just that just look at this little machine here it’s very very modular you can remove the seed you can remove remove the stop box you can add whatever you want you can make it a two-seater you can convert it into a carrier you can add additional carrier here you can remove the battery here so it’s very very modular this specific machine and right now this company cake is trying to project itself as a company which is offering products in both b2c and B2B markets right now uh the weight is more towards b2c but they want to sell in the industrial segments also and as you can see they have a multitude of products here this one here is a commuter machine more of a lifestyle off-roader and it’s very minimalistic just look at this beautiful design it’s like very very very minimalistic and here it has a beauty of its own I really liked what they have done with this machine a really new fresh take on automotive design so it’s really heartening to see when you find something very different very nicely done very minimalistic then you have this uh in the steel carrier here which is relatively low speed so as I see here the peak power here is not very high these are all very utilitating machines but within that segment to find a company which is trying to establish itself with the fresh thinking is really nice so this one has a range of 100 kilometers this one here has 86 kilometer mix City riding range and that one here also has a range of what 111 kilometers so really nice products this company is not here in India but they’re studying the market and they’re planning to come here by the end of this year or probably the next year now here we have Neil who is one of the co-founders of the company and Alvin also who’s uh you know someone very closely associated with the company so maybe we’ll ask a couple of questions to nil and he would be able to answer our questions I had a conversation with him earlier hello and let me just hook him up do we have the mic with us right now we are officially on camera now and I really got interested in your products uh your proposition is really unique and the design is amazing can you just let us know a little bit more about your brand what your products are and um yes generally like you know the viewers as to who you are and what you want to do yes so my name is Nils I work at cake we are a Swedish company uh our whole design philosophy is that with an electric drivetrend there’s no need to build motorcycles as they’ve been built traditionally for the past you know 60 70 years so instead of just putting on electric drivetrain components motor battery controller on a regular chassis we have decided to build the whole bike around the electrical drivetrain so all of the components has been built from scratch so we couldn’t use motorcycle components they were too heavy bicycle components being too weak so the suspension the tires the rims the handlebars stems hubs everything has been developed from scratching or to support this new category so this is actually only 70 kilograms a lot lighter than Traditions that’s all with battery yes uh so the battery you get around two to three hours riding time on it if you’re going off going riding off-road on the street you get around 86 kilometers uh the battery takes two hours to charge if you don’t want to wait that long you can always buy a spare battery pack remove the seat bring out the battery put in a new one and then you’re good to go for another two to three hours while this is really beautiful as an off-roader this one as a related machine as I told you is also amazing it’s very modular and can be used for various different purposes so this is awesome this is our utility vehicle uh we focused a lot on modularity on this bike and took a lot of information over inspiration from a Swiss army knife so on the frame we have this main bin that we designed to be used kind of like a workbench so we have a clamping system here where you can have several clamps along with our accessories so you can put on a bunch of different accessories to customize it totally to return it so you can add extra passenger seats you can have a front rear and side carriers or as with this example a heating and cooling boxes can be removed that’s mine delivery yes so this can be removed easily same thing here on the battery we Supply this bike with two different batteries this area is at 3.5 kilowatt hours we also have a smaller battery which is at 2.5 kilowatt hours so these sockets are for vehicle to load yes so okay the the battery itself is designed as a big power bank as well so you can use this for any 12 volt applications and you have USB charging for for your appliances yeah same thing here batteries removable you have a lock in the front uh easy to remove uh you can swap out change keep running and while this may look very utilitary and it has an upside down Fork so the quality is not compromised I really love the quality of the materials what is it though is this aluminum yes so all of our bikes are aluminum uh frames are 60 61 aluminum um and we’re all about you know a minimalistic design we want to keep everything lightweight and optimized for the electric drivetrain and durability so everything is very sturdy I would absolutely love to have these motorcycles on our road thanks a lot for your night meal it was an absolute pleasure and honestly uh Power to you these are really amazing things yeah
