Why did you get the red cleats? I assume you are road riding. Go for yellows. Reds are a tight fit meant for sprinting etc.

That is the foot I put down every time I unclip, right one it’s a bit better.
Replace them yesterday and get a set of covers for when you’re walking.
I’d replace them several weeks ago. Personally I wouldn’t ride it like that. Accidentally coming unclipped at a bad time could be real bad

Get clip less pedals and you dont need clips
