The bicyclist, a 55-year-old Florida woman, was taken to CHA Cambridge Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her name has not been released.

in with breaking news tonight a bicyclist hit and killed on the streets of Cambridge thanks for staying up with us tonight I’m Priscilla Casper I’m Glenn Jones a box truck collided with the woman while riding at a Cambridge intersection NBC 10’s Michael Rosenfield joins us live Michael what happened yeah Glenn tragic day here in Cambridge a woman from Florida was killed in a bicycle accident it happened right here at this intersection around 4:30 this afternoon not too far from Harvard Square police were on the scene here for several hours investigating take a look at some photos of the scene the accident involved one of those rented blue bikes and a yellow box truck police tell us the truck and the bike were heading in the same direction here on Mount Auburn Street the truck turned onto D Wolf Street and collided with the bicyclist according to the group Cambridge bicycle safety Witnesses report the bicyclist was Pulled Under the truck and dragged Witnesses has yelled to the truck driver to stop Good Samaritans perform CPR but the bicyclist died from her injuries investigators say she is a 55-year-old from Florida we spoke to a bicyclist who regularly rides through this area about how tricky it can be to navigate Cambridge streets definitely nerve-wracking you got to keep an eye out um a lot of Uber drivers turn into the bike lane or you know Uber Eats pickups things like that um well really suddenly without looking K just swerve into the bike lane and and cut you off um so really even Beyond intersections you just got to keep an eye out no matter where you are be careful um it’s pretty scary the truck driver did remain here at the scene police have not said if he’ll be facing any charges live in Cambridge Michael Rosenfield NBC 10 Boston Michael

Yeah blame the Uber drivers not yourselves for riding your bikes like you are cars and being careless. Why specifically Uber drivers, is he monitoring the street all day?
