Yea dude look at tubular tire prices and the effort it takes to replace them. Gator skin tubulars are only gunna last for a dozen little skids. Not worth the hassle especially if ur gunna go through all the effort to put a track hub in that rear wheel just to have it be a pain in the ass in the future.
Edit: It only makes sense if you plan of keeping the bike on the track

Nope, not really. Unless using brakes. People will tell you otherwise, but it’s silly to do so.
Save tubs (tubulars) for the velo and crits. Use clinchers on the road.

Running tubulars on anything on the road is dumb. You can’t repair a flat and they’re expensive.

Nope. I mean ride what you like but tubular tires are for velodrome racing or other sorts of team-supported racing activities. If you have to change your tires yourself by the roadside like the rest of us I would probably avoid them.

I’ve been riding tubular tires on my fixed gear bike since 2008, I have the track version of that wheel set. I have a front brake and I don’t skid stop. I definitely wouldn’t recommend if you are planning on doing skid stops. I run gator skins.
