over 10 years ago I embarked on a series of Journeys that will stir my passion for cycling Adventures it started with doubts about my own abilities and the reliability of rather unusual bicycle and it ended with a discovery that any bike can become the perfect means to discover the word when cycling immersed in the elements and the landscape one learns to appreciate whatever happens and to not take anything for granted every pedal stroke reminds me that it is not about reaching a destination but in embracing the journey in its entirety it teaches me that to feel Fully Alive I have to take it all and welcome [Music] everything the highest the lows the ordinary and the [Music] inspiring sure there will be rain and there will be sunshine steep mountains to climb in order to enjoy an effortless Glide down the other side moments of ecstasy as well as the old mishap but one thing is sure it would all have been worth [Music] it let me take you along what has been an incredible [Music] ride when the pandemic was raging a movement curtailed I packed my tent and started from London with a plan to visit some of the best parts of Southern [Music] England while early April brought cold nights and with restaurants and cafes closed it was challenging to get a respite from the chil night spent camping despite this it felt liberating to be once again in the outdoors rather than confined home by repeated lockdowns like a body of water sleeping through the edges of my [Music] soul and getting [Music] harder it was never under my control you know [Music] being in Europe we are spoiled for Choice when it come to choosing the next destination I had long wanted to travel from the UK to my hometown in [Music] Italy I took a ferry to rdam and started heading south through Holland’s extensive network of cycle ways stay there for a while I feel it now when I see like a next I drawn the ovella route that follows closely the floor of the river rine and moved into [Music] Germany and getting harder it was never under my [Music] control no [Music] was under my control know [Music] I cross the border with France not far from Strasburg and continued along the wine route and its Vineyards quaint Villages and towns I had cycle Peron in the past on a mountain bike but this time I followed the entire length of its Coast to the border with Italy inac SE all I need from you to me oh my might and intimacy all I need from you to me oh my might SE all I need from you to me why can’t you see me on my knees for you baby I’m falling down and I need you I only quickly skim through Spain following the beautiful Contour of the ca bra on a trip that started in Barcelona oh my might into SE all I need from you to me is all I need [Music] Portugal had always been on my radar and the southern city of faroh was the ideal starting point to break the cold winter of Northern Europe [Music] travels in Italy started from the extreme north of the dolomites region not far from my hometown mountains there had always been taken for for granted while visiting them as a child but with the experience of having traveled I appreciated how incredibly beautiful they are after 2,500 km I eventually made it to my hometown speeding through the Old Town and taking a dip in a secret Corner that I like to call [Music] Paradise next was the coast of liua with its stretches of long tunnels that were once part of the single track Railway [Music] I visited Sicily for the first time on a bicycle I was impressed by its light and the spectacular old towns and Majestic Coast Lane [Music] despite to decades spent living in England I had never been to Scotland I had read of the North Coast 500 an increasingly popular Loop that starts in inness and in 500 miles takes you around some of the best parts of the Highlands [Music] after 2 years finally travel resumed and with relief I could move further visiting Japan I chose Hokkaido as a destination an island that is much quieter and with its national parks great food and Hots Spa has always been a favorite of cyclists in the country [Music]

  1. Perfect, Welldone Gianni, some nice adventures on the Brompton 🙂 The little bike is more than capable. I missed part one so will go and watch it now:)

  2. Great video. We watched all of your videos in full length, but it's great to see them snackable cut together. Looking forward what's coming next. ☺️☺️
    Regards
    Ben&Sarah

  3. Hello Gianni, do the airlines accept your backpack as hand luggage? I bought a sea to summit 50l dry river backpack. Won’t pack it fully. Maybe it’s an option for you too. It has great features. Only downside is no place for bottles. And thanks a lot for your Great videos, very inspiring. Watched them all and bought my own Brompton.

  4. I enjoy your videos. In 1986 i cycled the east coast of the u.s.a. mostly flat. I am a coaster 😊 nice and slow. I did not document it in any way, my loss. Today i am riding a brompton m6r but she doesn't like to coast, mythical brompton drag. Any tips. Thanks, keep on truckin.

  5. " my home town in Italy" ?! Hm, seems like you immegrated to England as a child probably because I cant hear any accent. Anyway I cycled two months through Spain last year and ended up now buying a motorcycle for the next trip, so all my respect goes out to you!

  6. So wonderful, and I agree with your philosophies about bike riding. I’m travelling solo from Budapest to Scotland on my Brompton, right now I’m in the Occitane region of France. Your videos persuaded me to switch and I have not had any reason to change my mind about my bike, she is working beautifully. Next, I think you’ll have to come and visit us in Australia😊

  7. This is the first time I have left a comment on your video. Your video is very important to me, especially during the Covid-19 lockdown in China from 2020 to 2023. This is a prison life of absurdity, crime, violence and fear for all. From time to time I was quarantined at home for long periods of time (week after week without an informing about how long) and there were a severe shortage of food. I stock up on coffee, tea, canned food, and rice and pasta. I set up the tent in the living room, and a lot of the time I lay in the tent with my Brompton outside, using VPN playing your videos to relax my brain. Because we don’t know how long the blockade will last, we may be taken to the isolation camp late at night by the “people who wear white cover”. I prepared my brompton, food and camping tools according to your book instructions. And be prepared to escape by bicycle if necessary and go camping in several places I have planned. Thank god never happen on me, and lockdown finished now (Maybe a pause), I've been on a lot of field trips this year. Fun fact is, even now about one and half year later … I still not finish the food I stocked. Thank you very much, just let you know your video is life saving (mentally and physically), very unexpected right 🙂
