I haven’t had any punctures for the past 3 years, and 3 weeks after getting nice new road tires, I got the worst puncture I had…
When I rode back home at night yesterday, I suddenly felt like I had hit a bump, and I hear gasses hissing out with every revolution of the wheel. Undoubtedly, I got a puncture, but as that sound gradually fades away, I thought the tubeless sealant had patched the hole. Until I had a look at the damage… the tire was penetrated by a M6x30 screw leftover from the traffic light maintenance…Fuck!
I somehow managed to patch the hole with a tubeless repair kit, but it will pop if I pump the tire to more than 4 bars. However, it should be fine for now…

Had to cross a tram track on a wet day to get around a parked car and crossing back to the shoulder passing the car, my front tyre slipped and caught in the groove, throwing me off my bike. Thankfully this happened crossing back and my momentum threw me out of, not into, the path of the tram not far behind me.
I got hit by cars twice on the way to my destination, and got a flat tire about 10km away from home on the way back…. Honestly after that ride I bought a car and only ride recreationally / on a trainer….
I was riding into work running about 10 minutes late and an ambulance ripped past me, 10 minutes later I see it stopped at an intersection, loading someone into the back that had just been hit by a car crossing it. The cyclist died. Definitely shook me up for months thinking it could have been me
I had no clue about bikes. While on commute there was a weird noise….i stopped and saw an air bubble on the tire.
Having very limited options i just continued…for like 15 sec then my tire EXPLODED. It was absurdly loud and i nearly crashed.
Had to walk/push the bike for 30 minutes to work….
That one Pelican on that one light pole with excellent aim and impeccable timing.
