Ok, it’s settled. Day 2 of the Wilderness Road is by far the best bicycle touring Sweden has to offer. Started out the day with a major climb up to the Stekjokk plateau, which is Sweden’s highest paved road, well above the tree line. Once there I was met by wide open spaces. There was still some patches of snow here and there. But since it was august most of it had melted away and was being transported down the mountain by one of the impressive rivers.

Later I rode by a massive waterfall called Gaustafallet and made my way to my campspot for the night. Lake Mesvattnet.

  1. Lovely scenery, Mike. I will make your curry meal but with chicken and mild curry. Looks tasty. BTW, where did you learn your excellent English?

  2. Hello Mike,
Really impressed with your drone photography and the added dimension it gives your videos. The musical choices and panoramic shots are great and highlight the astonishing beauty of the Swedish wilderness. Thanks for sharing these adventures, looking forward to the next one.
May I ask what type of drone do you use and how long has it taken you to learn how to handle it? Thanks, Mike

  4. Hi Mike I don't know if this is the right place to ask you these questions but hey. What is your day job? Which Lapland town do you live in? Have you done a filmmaking course? Thanks:-) Richard. South Africa

  5. Eat plenty of garlic, helps prevent insect attack ; } Strange when one's in Europe red wine always seems to be on the menu. I was in Morocco for near 6 months and drunk whiskey like it was going out fashion. Soon as i went back to Europe red wine attack. Price and the taste could be a factor.

  6. 16:01 But your rice comes in a plastic bag. What worse is you were heating it in hot water 😱😱
But What can one do when you bike touring 😂

Always love watching the cooking bit and what you eat

  7. Awesome my friend. Thank you for sharing your adventures and knowledge.
I live in Washington State. My last bike tour was in high school many years ago. Due to a lifetime of running, my knees are in need of a different challenge.
I recently purchased a 2021 Kona Sutra! I love it so far.
Your videos are motivating and have helped me navigate the the first few months of biking.
    Again, my sincere thanks.

  8. Some amazing music on this video, especially to accompany the dramatic drone shots. Any chance you could include details in future? Have you ever worked out how much extra distance you cycle to retrieve camera gear for your pass by shots?

  9. Wonderful video of the Wilderness Road with all the camera angles and drone footage. You keep a positive attitude despite having to deal with the flies and mosquitos.
