stage one of the Lloyd’s Bank tour of Britain women started in the heart of Wales in Welsh pool a 142. 4 km stage with over 2,200 M of elevation the route heads North to the coast to candido and the world champion L peki is on the start line amongst some other favorites too an active animated start to the race with plenty of attacks but none were able to stick and on the only C War climb of the day it was hotly contested with France taking the maximum points Lucy Harris the 30-year-old from Pro knocked his 200 degrees hard griefs Contracting made a brave solo effort to try and break away from the pellaton she gained over 30 seconds over eight Chasers including Christa doel Hickok Christine Majerus and Connie Hayes at the top of the second climb of the day it was Lizzy diagam five for Georgie Gman Henderson and Jansen who pushed on a group of nine going clear from the Paton but it was Dagan who took the maximum points of the queen of the mountain that left the Paton desperately wanting to try and bring back the nine but heading into the only intermediate Sprint of the day they had a good advantage over the pelaton and bonus seconds and points available it was PSTA who took the three seconds ahead of keki on the running into the finishing cland did no it was the luxembourgish champion Christine majeres who led things in with Anna Henderson of the Great Britain national team alongside her teammate Lizzie Dagan keki was there as was five for Georgie and Ruby Roseman Ganon was looking after the interest of Letizia pansta but the big fight was for the world champions will L keki because it was Dagan and PSTA who knew that it was the world champions wheel that was the favored one Christine maseras LED things out and delivered L Kaki with a straight run to the Finish Line a roaring Tailwind to finish with and L keki tried to hook the barrier but it was closely challenged between p nosta and a throw for the line it was a photo finish but in the end it was L keki who wins stage one of the Lloyd’s Bank tour of Britain women yeah I was really close when I knew that L was the fastest uh Sprinter so that she was the one to beat but um yeah I uh I think I had a very well time Jump and uh yeah also really close but yeah it’s also nice to uh to be able to screen myself and to finish it off for for Te L keki wins stage one into candid no to get things started for the 2024 Edition she also takes the red jersey for the best Sprinter and Lizzie Dagan takes the blue jersey for the queen of the mountains competition L keki is the first leader of the Lloyd’s Bank tour of Britain women and she will wear green on stage two L keki wins the stage ahead of pansta and Georgie and in the general classification is keki ahead of pansta and Georgie with a slender Advantage but a big gap to The Paton behind we’ll see you tomorrow for stage two rexim to rexim
