I crashed into my brother a few weeks ago and ended up going into a fence and damaging it. Then the other day I was checking my rear light was on while riding (ridiculous I know) and I looked forward and hit the curb, straight over the bars on to the pavement. I got very lucky as it’s just my hand knee and hip that are sore but they will be fine!

Doing around 28km/Hr on a downhill bridge in the wet.
Hit a pot hole and my hands came off my bars and I tried to wrap my elbows around the hoods to keep in control.
Ended up slowly falling over sideways and super manning down the tarmac for about 6 metres.
In front of a huge tourist crowd.
I’ve gone through two more jackets since.
Last November, I was on my way home from work, on my gravelbike-with-roadtyres. A route I biked multiple times before. I’ve known the route for years and should know it from the back of my head. Somehow, I completely missed a slight bend in the bikepath, my front wheel ended up next to it in the dirt and with my stupid-ass mind, I tried to steer back onto the elevated bikepath. At 35km/hour…
Needless to say, it didn’t end well. I bruised some ribs, totalled my helmet (thank god for that), severely injured my hip and ended up in the hospital because during my examination, they found something wrong with my heart 🙁
Eventually, nothing was wrong with my heart, so when I got back into cycling after about a month, I started commuting again with my freshly-repaired gravelbike. Only to be side-swiped the f*cking next day by a pedestrian to blind to see the red light she was going through while walking her dog. Results: broken bike, busted knee and again, a new helmet….
I still commute by bike, but only on flatpedals at the moment. I save clipless for the normal rides during the weekend.
gloves!
sorry you fell down
