Hey guys, starting a big tour next week. Just wondering on any suggestions of a route through Albania? Im coming in from the Montenegro coastline and pretty much heading towards Ohrid in Macedonia – Ohrid being the next place I've heard that's worth a visit, so I'm aiming for that.

Current route mapped out.

Cycle.Travel is just doing the route for me at the moment, but I honestly know very little about Albania. Is Tirana worth a visit? Are there any hidden gems I should go past? Villages? Monuments? Or if not, just a nice route suggestion that gets me through Albania would be fantastic. Happy to detour a bit, especially further South.

Many thanks!

  1. I cycled along the coast from Montenegro to Greece, the view is beautiful and I liked the small villages

  2. I really liked both Berat and Gjirokaster. Further down south the Blue Eye (Syri I Kaltër) is worth it. Around Permet you’ll find some hot springs with a view (Benja Thermal Baths). Don’t forget to eat the Fergese.

Edit: I think [Bikepacking.com](http://Bikepacking.com) published a route in Albania some months ago. Might be worth checking it out.
