So my grandpa passed away a few years back and he used to be a big road biker. At the time, I wasn’t interested in it. I’ve since matured and really want to get into it! I went to my grandmas to check out what bikes he had left but my other cousins beat me to it and this was all that was left. Based on a couple google searches it might be a collectors item? Wanted to see what you guys had to say. Not quite sure if it belongs here or not, but help me out! Thanks! The brand is guerciotti. The engraved signature is paolo guerciotti.

IDK, but based on the italian name, the incredible paint job, and the apparently mint condition, you better keep that inside and do not ride it until you find out

Guerciotti made extremely good steel frames for racing, similar in quality to frames such as Pinarello and Colnago. I’d guess that it’s from late 1980s-early 1990s. The frame geometry of Guerciottis were pure racing.
I can see only a bit of the Columbus tubing sticker on the seat tube, but I can’t read it. It sort of looks like Aelle sticker; Aelle was an intro tubing for Columbus during the 1980s/early 1990s. Even if it’s an introductory level Guerciotti, it’ll be very well made and a great riding frame. I could never tell the difference in ride quality between Aelle and Columbus’s more expensive tubing sets such as SL, SP, or SLX. And I may be wrong and it could be one of the more expensive tube sets.
The parts are Campagnolo. I can’t identify exactly what line they are because you have drive side down (please don’t do that–you can damage the derailleur doing that), but from what I can see from this side, it looks like the Athena line with the first generation Athena brakes. The Athena was at equal equal, if not a notch up from Shimano 600 parts in the late 1980s or 1990s. I really like the bikes I rode with Athena parts. I thought they as good in most ways as the Dura-Ace or Campy Chorus or Campy Record parts.
Anyway, it’s a really nice bike from a famed builder. It may not be the builder’s absolute top of the line but even if isn’t, I’d be happy to own the bike, especially with the cool paint job. Very nice.
