When I was 16 my friends and I loaded up our BMX bikes on a trunk rack and drove to Louisville, Kentucky to ride the skatepark and try to buy cheap cigarettes.
On the way home, while we’re doing probably 70mph on I-65, the straps failed and four bikes went tumbling. Thankfully nobody hit the bikes and we were able to collect them, but we then had to figure out how to secure what was left with just a handful of bungee cords.
