Picked up this 63cm 1991 Cannondale ST600 for cheap. Loving the fact that a sport touring frame of this era can clear such big tires. Currently has 2 different wheels, and 2 different tire sizes lol.
Currently running a 38mm Compass Barlow Pass up front (nice tire but loose on gravel) on a 18mm ID Salsa CX rim, and a 45mm Specalized fatboy in back on a fkn skinny 14mm ID sun rim.
All I did to it so far is add some bottle cages (to replace the wine bottle holder for now), put a new BB in (old one was shot as fk),cleaned up the rear brake cable, put some koolstop salmon pads on, and tuned up the cantis. This thing stops on a dime now!
Thinking about getting some rims with a wider inner diameter, (maybe some Velocity Cliffhangers from velomine), and some ultradynamico rosé 42mms front and back. (and probably changing bars, saddle, brake levers, etc but what else did you expect on this sub)

You may be able to run Cliffhangers, but they’re really too wide for your frame. I’d run a Dyad or, if you want wide but not wiiiiide, a Rhyno Lite.
Ooof. Couldn’t imagine riding a vintage c’dale on gravel for any period of time. Had a 3.0 with a lugged steel fork and it damn near rattled my teeth out on smooth pavement lol
