Bought some toe clips and realized the reflectors don’t look like they can be removed. Can they? Should I just buy new pedals? These are just wellgo platforms that came with my commuter.

I’d just replace the pedals instead. However, I wouldn’t recommend toe clips over standard hybrid pedals such as the shimano xt pd-t8000.
I don‘t think you can, because, if I‘m not mistaken, the toe clips require threads in the pedal body that are most likely not present on this type. But i might be wrong on this one.

Don’t listen to those people telling you to go clipless. They are paid shills by BIG SHIMANO.
You know the saying, ‘On Monday you go clipless, on Tuesday your child robs a bank.’.
Those pedal reflectors do not come out nicely. Yes you will need to buy new pedals if you want toe clips.
This is my short commute work bike so I’m not going clipless. Did that before but nothing keeps my feet dry like my cheap waterproof hiking boots I’ve been wearing. I guess I’ll be buying a new set of pedals. Thanks
