I weight ~230 and find the suspension to be SUPER bouncy and easily bottomed out. Is there anything that can be done about that? Perhaps a different shock would be better for my weight?

Air springs are designed to be adjusted based on your weight. 230 is not even close to being outside of the adjustable range. Google your shock model, and bike model / year and one or both will have a recommended air pressure and settings. Beyond that it may have issues given its age and need service. Shocks need a shock pump. A tire pump will not work.

There should be a schrader valve that you can attach a shock pump to. Pump it up to the recommended pressure for your weight per the shock manual. If it still feels too reactive you can adjust the damper settings.

What do you mean?
There are essentially two options:
1.) Adjust the air spring pressure.
2.) Add/remove shock tokens.
Are you bottoming out the shock frequently?
