Day 2 and 3 of the Tiny Bike Tour 2 and it did not start the smoothest but after a bit of spannering we started to make some real ground

We are doing a 1000 mile loop of the South Coast on 54 year old 2 stroke mopeds. Moped touring is a real challenge but definitely worth it as you get to absorb the views at 30 mph.

The bikes we chose for this adventure were a 1970 Puch Maxi and a 1970 BSA Ariel 3.

Motocamping at it’s finest. Along the way we will be wild camping as much as possible as well as making the most of strangers hospitality.

This is all to raise some funds for Combat Stress which is a veterans mental health charity so please consider donating.

it’s halfast 5 and apparently someone come in in the middle of the night and kick the [ __ ] out of me cuz I said my body FS as you can see I’m handsome bug first sing in the morning I don’t think yeah but that’s what happens when you sleep in Hill morning Grizzly uh morning it’s rained all night it stops at 5:00 this morning yeah which is good I haven’t at all it’s always got to be positive for in the morning though anyway I’m going to get up going to a blo brush me teeth wash me nuts get eating get on the go we’re driving 300 miles today you’re right I thought you just about to have with us the god days hopefully it’ll just we’ll miss them all and we can just find the a I still I’m still riding the BSA aial 3 on a bumpy road on the limit of comfort that it can offer me but it’s been a good start to the day there’s a warm feeling that these little BS are buzzing along like they are as M regardless of how uncomfortable they are and you’re back on the road again after the toy yesterday what’s that wheel look like is not shaking his head the show not at all that’s cool there is a SL button to the room I know that have your sex [Music] they sat together in the park as the evening Sky grew dark she look at him so about how far did you say 20 mile would it yeah about 20 M into the day things going really smooth we’re making good time unfortunately Schmidt re it ugly head again yes new bearings on there and he starting to get a bit of play just hoping it is a little bit of adjustment rather than what happened yesterday we’re guessing it is down to the enormous amount of weight it’s carrying where it ain’t normally used to it um this can’t be buggering up this trip so we’ll see how today goes and we got decisions to make the Trip’s getting finished don’t worry about that [ __ ] but whether or not it’s on Schmid is another thing old Dave is living the dreamlet bannering again I say it over and over and over again the kindness of strangers on this trip you must bear in mind we look bad I mean I look bad the bikes are rusty old you know what we’re disheveled blah blah blah blah a lady’s just walked from her house to the road cuz she passed us to make us a cup of coffee complete stranger didn’t know what we were doing or anything like that just saw a couple of BLS broken down at the road coffee people are brilliant people are brilliant so we’re about 20 minutes into cleaning all the ball bearings Paul’s put the new iners in and all this sort of stuff Dave’s instructing him every step of the way I think he needs it um now it could be I’m optimistic it will be possibly a permanent solve pool possibly so I think we’ve just had to go over everything we’ve got here and get rid of all the cheap and nasty and try and build a good bearing out the stuff that we had but if not I don’t care what he says I’m getting on beding eBay and I’m going to get him the dirtiest cheapest 50 cc bike made out of II him that I can just to watch him suffer Top Gear Challenge is it we don’t suffer we have to ride the dodgy bike which seems a weird thing to say considering you’re on Wendy I’m on dodgy bike yeah well the Vietnam tour Honda Chell Honda Chell okay it did have distasteful paint work it was a Honda CH yeah it it was a Honda you knew it was going to make it yeah but these pooches are austrians and you know to be fair yes I mean they’ve been proven to work the world over I think we’ve just got an anomaly here bearing in mind that bike we T we got hold of within the space of a couple of months it’s gone from being ready for the scrap Heap to being on the road expected to do 1,000 miles at the moment Schmid is currently sitting in the third of my most hated austrians you got Hitler Joseph Fritz all and then oh Schmid don’t listen don’t listen to me so it’s about an hour later Paul has worked some magic I saved the day with a spanner I didn’t know I had um we’re going to go get a bite to weat on a scale of one to 10 how confident do you think you are that that will be the end of that problem two yeah really but on a scale of 1 to 10 on how confident we’re going to do this 10 oh yeah we are we defin two that that’s going to survive at 10 I think we need to just put shout out if anyone’s got a pooch Maxi rear wheel in the what direction we going in that way that way in that way Direction um send us a message and we’ll meet I think that’s would say anyone looking at this for some sort of ideas for adventure get it bleeding done you can pick up a cheap and nasty ped it’s going to cost you a little bit not the Earth do these sort of things and you still got the pet to flog would you recommend small bikes Big Adventures shout out small bikes Big Adventures even with the Perils of and the frustrations of that rear wheel on the pooch this has been such a laugh and then you just have a look let’s do a [Music] flyby I’m a cinematic God I was burned out from exhaustion buried in the hell I’m poisoned in the bushes and blown out 120 m in so far we’ve still got about 3 hours of light Dave’s getting a bit knackered so we might be looking for somewhere in the next hour or so but what it does mean is these bikes are able to do the challenge so what we’re looking at doing is taking a slightly different approach over the stops and fill ups over the next couple of days we’re basically going to fill up we going to run until run until the tank is empty I’ll get about 7 miles out of my tank so we might stop even every 50 Mi eat sling food down our head straight back on the go again that means four stops through the day giving us 200 m today we are going to have to probably finish Saturday stroke Sunday unless we can really pull it out the bag and putting some Monumental 250 days in I’ll be honest with you I think that might be a little bit too much who’s to say we ain’t going to try it but as it stands with the utter dross that we had the first two days I am so much happier the bike is running as well as it can do with the clutch sticking I’m still having to do racing starts and the big issue with that is much like Brian Harvey I’ve run myself over not once but twice when you’re pushing it and the wheels are by your feet it happens # Brian Harvey run himself over um solar panels charging me klet seems to be working and corbert is keeping everything running Ain had a lot to do today shut up I told you you
