Tuning up a Trek FX2.

Rear brake caliper is sitting too far forward causing uneven wear on pads + spongy brakes.

See pic 3 for exploded view of adapter(s). I've tried flipping these round in all manner of ways to no avail.

I get the impression this has been a bodge job by someone as the countersink bolts don't look stock/don't fit well.

Anyone have any ideas which adapter I need? I have tried to look but there seems to be no straightforward guide.

Any help would be much appreciated 🙂

  1. I think your frame is designed for flat mount calipers, and you appear to be using post mount calipers.

  2. Who ever sold you that bike bodged it. You need a post to flat mount adapter.
