Thank you so much for all of your support and donations so far, I can’t explain how much I truly appreciate it!!!

right guys just about to go uh just about to head off from Hometown up to DOA so I’ll talk to you and stuff probably have a little chat on the ferry and whatnot um right up my dad meeting a few people up in uh sort of the top of do do Hill which is out folks would be nice um take a slow ride up there so I talk to you in a bit you guys right though yeah yeah well yeah I got yeah give me a push if you want cheers mate all everyone hope you’re all okay I’m just uh riding into do Port Said bye to everyone uh it’s hard but you know oh here we go [Music] hello everyone hope you’re doing okay I’m just slowly packing up in the room uh just uh getting ready to ride to era today feeling a little bit better still feel a little bit down um I think this will last this feeling will last for a few days if not just the first week but got to get through it push through it um I sort of knew it’s going to be tough going away from everyone sorry that I didn’t really talk much yesterday I really was struggling yesterday uh sort of on the verge of a bit of a breakdown a couple of times but I think that’s quite normal when you say goodbye to everyone a lot of people struggle with that um so I’m going to be doing a little bit of a ride to eat PR it’s meant to be a bit rough in terms of weather this week so I’m not going to have a full set plan yet so I’m going to sort of place base my plan around that as just a reminder I’m doing this for great Al streat hospital I’ll have all the links of like the just giving pages and stuff just down below so any donations towards that makes it amazing it really you know keeps me going just while I’m doing this trip [Applause] h morning everyone hope you’re doing okay uh just in e at a minute just in a very chilly tent in epril it’s been a bit cold it’s about 5° at the moment um so I’m planning today to cycle to uh somewhere south of gent um it’s about 38 M to gent it’s meant to be raining quite a lot today uh tomorrow is meant to be abysmal so wherever I go I’m going to stay for the day and just relax I always have the rule of the first three days you cycle and I just find you need to have a rest after that you know especially in this situation it’s been a lot of emotions uh and there’s been a lot of um just just things going on it was very busy leading up to uh my departure from folston uh after I cycle back from London so I feel like a a rest is well needed and as a good excuse when it’s a rainy day [Music] [Music] windy up here right guys how you doing absolutely chucked it down but now it’s calming down a little bit as you can hear just a bit of lightning in the background uh I’m going to stop here for a minute all right everyone uh just cycling to into gent now changing with mine uh found a hostle that has only2 a night so I was like well that’s better than pitching up in a tent for I know s less EUR so if I’ll just go there and stay there for two nights going to have a rest day tomorrow uh get just a few things sorted and then head off to Brussels the following day I think that’s a nicer plan it’s been a rain literally all day tomorrow uh as you can see the sun has just come out temporarily uh which is nice makes a massive difference I was shivering earlier what a beautiful day [Music] right everyone just in the hostle and gent at a minute uh dried off and a lot of stuff’s all sorted so I’m planning a ride towards Brussels tomorrow I’m not too sure how far I want to go but it should be all right just uh basically just had a little walk around I’ll show you some of the footage of a little walk around pretty little city to be honest just going to go and get a new sleeping bag I just uh it’s 2° tonight and the one I had is definitely not warm enough um so far I just go and pick one up it’s about €20 but it’s rated as minus three for Comfort whereas mine’s like seven so I never really I thought never really knew the ratings um what they meant because I’ve always gone away in the summer um but I was a little bit chilly the other night hence why I stayed in a hostel so I’m trying to pop over there now I’ll chat in a minute [Applause] come good morning uh just woke up and obviously sleeping bags really good uh just got my arm out the sleeping oh it’s cold outside so shows the sleeping bag worked quite well uh wasn’t shivering pretty much to death like the other night all right everyone packed up and all ready to go this campsite has been really nice just been chatting to a few people all been up come up and been quite supportive uh just people just under a flight path here uh loads of people who do cycling themselves or two guys anyway de cycling themselves uh came up and said really positive words some of them gave me a cereal bar one of them um gave me a coffee I thought it was quite nice [Music] now this is cold so at the moment I’m just north of uh Brussels there Brussels just down there uh so I’m going around it uh I don’t really advise going through big cities unless you want to see them uh cuz it takes a long time starting to get a move now and last it took me about 2 hours almost to do 7 miles going around Brussels being near the airport there’s tons of Road works so I’ve got about 40 mil still in about 6 hours should be fine let’s hope I just hit a massive Boulder uh just in the middle of the road luckily it doesn’t appear to have done any damage almost wiped out it was like the same color as the road and I wasn’t paying attention just looking the side so thankfully didn’t wipe out there oh that could have been a lot worse right everyone just pitched up the tent in this very very very busy campsite there like two Camper vans there and that’s it just heaving of people oh you know you chose the right time to go away and sleep in a tent when no one else is doing it think something’s wrong with you I’m only now like 30 mil away from Germany so not too bad uh I think it’s maybe even less than that I haven’t actually had a proper look yet going to go and have a shower and whatnot um it’s meant to absolutely tip it down in the morning tomorrow so I’m thinking about maybe having a shorter day and I’ll just stay in the tent for the morning for a bit and we’ll just wait for the worst of it to go um and then wrap up and go it probably won’t be dry uh but it’s meant to go from like 90% chance of heavy rain till about 9:00 a.m. and then it sort of dwindles down that usually means there’s sporadic bits of dryness which is a lot better than constant rain um and I be absolutely freezing if I get out and get soaked straight away cuz it’s like going to be about 5° [Music] [Music]

  1. Looking forward to following your trip. £650 already is a great start and I bet it’s even more by now. I’m leaving on a trip in a couple of weeks and can start to understand the anxiety and emotional rollercoaster you’re on. One day at a time. You got this!

  2. I'm leaving for a cycle trip on Monday and even though I've done it loads of times before, I get the same anxiety every time – and I'm only going to France! I can't imagine doing something as impressive as the challenge you have set for yourself, so hats off to you mate. I donated and am looking forward to following the rest of your trip – fingers crossed for some dry days!
