One arm of the starnut broke, perhaps due to rust. It was installed only a couple of weeks ago and came new with the fork (unless the bike shop swapped it). Is that "normal"? What kind of starnut and bolt should I get to avoid this?
Side question: what do you think of the fork cut?

Thoughts:
* Cut looks fine so long as it’s filed beveled.
* That doesn’t look like a new star nut. It shouldn’t rust that fast.
* Being cracked like that doesn’t matter so long as you can appropriately preload the bearings.
* There doesn’t look to be enough space between the top of the steerer and the top of the stem for you to preload the bearings. (Unless you’ve had a spacer up top?)
