So my oldie but a goodie Cannondale CAAD7 R1000 was destroyed when I was hit by a vehicle. I missed out on a Cannondale SuperSix for $600, due to not having any idea what I was going to get from the driver's insurance and being a little broke. Turns out they gave me $213. A little frustrated, given what a new CAAD13 would run, but at the end of the day I paid $200 for it back in 2016 or 2017 and got many many miles of absolutely amazing riding on it, so I can't be too mad. Ended up finding this Specialized Tarmac Comp locally for $400 so a decade newer, carbon and an upgrade from 9 to 10 speed for $200… Although I think my hand built aluminum CAAD7 was lighter than this Tarmac Comp, not more. I got my pedals swapped over today and scavenged as many working parts off my old bike that I could. Thankfully the wheels were intact, 1 pinch flat, but minimal damage, so now I have 3 wheel sets, but only 2x 10 speed cassettes. Hoping to take it out for a quick ride tomorrow, not sure how long my injured body will hold up, but giving it a go.
