The plastic is broken around where the barrel adjuster screws into. Is this feasibly repairable or should I go ahead and get new shifters

looks toast to me. The crack, the rust. If you put a gear cable tensioner in there, it’ll probably break even more. Used bike shops are good for picking up new ones.
The shaft all the shifter internals mount to is broken. RIP
Shifters are inexpensive your better off just buying a new one.
