Hi all,
I am in the market for a road bike and really like canyon. I think an endurace fits my needs as I am looking for a bike to commute as well as for long rides on the weekends (used to ride 40-50km on the weekends a few years ago and want to come back). I have an old Merida that I use to commute but I want to replace it now, having landed onto this two options. They seem to share many of the components including frame and seat but not the group sets. Which one would best? I have read in this sub about the issues with chain drop with sram but also that Di2 is more difficult to charge when needed. My initial budget is 3k but could push to the 3.6 if it is worth it (cf 8 not available – delivery predicted in August but the cf 7 could be delivered in the first week of July). Please let me know your thoughts?
I would also like to suggest this sub to have a discussion thread about recommendations of bikes and components? Idk if it is worth it.
Thanks in advance

The 2 bikes are pretty similar in weight, similar wheels. I prefer AXS. You can swap the front and rear derailleur batteries if you ever need to during a ride. Super easy charging.
Properly set up, neither system should drop the chain. I dropped my chain once or twice and just reset the front derailleur per SRAM’s guide and it’s never happened again. The alignment process is simple.
If you commute in all weather, I’d suggest keeping the old bike and set it up as a dedicated commuter bike. Full fenders, wide/bulletproof tires, etc.
