I know where to start. As much as this sucks and is so dumb, this sentence:
“We stood between the car doors, taking a shower. Suddenly I hear a man screaming very loudly. But we just wanted to freshen up for the Mexican.”
made me laugh like a 12 year old.

Doing anything slightly European in any state that Donald Trump has won the popular vote in twice is a bad idea lmao.

I often change in my truck or freshen up after a ride I have questions. Was there some sort of coverage between the open car doors? Were they completely exposed to the restaurant? I’ve never had issues ( knocks wood ); even in public parks but I’m also very cautious to make sure there is full coverage so nothing is shown.

There’s some info here on what different states do and don’t allow for public nudity:
Now that the colors in the map are mostly about women being able to go topless, not nudity in general.
I have changed clothes clothes in many parking lots on the west coast to go surfing hidden only by a car door or a loose towel and have never had an issue. But I have never been and have no desire to go to Oklahoma.
In case the cyclingnews link is paywalled for anyone else

Getting naked in a parking lot in a small, rural town is never a good idea. Take a robe or towel or kilt if you need to change in public.

I mean, I feel like the lack of details in this story is the problem…when they say “showering” between car doors, where they naked? Together? They said they were pouring water over each other. I could see why this was considered lewd behavior potentially. Public Nudity doesn’t fly in the US in most places. They also have no charges pressed so really seems like a non story.

Assuming there was no nudity:
This is bad. Unbound is a huge event that brings a lot of money into a small community. If law enforcement indeed took a card from the Jim Crow South and went after these guys because of an assumption with no proof it could mean trouble for the race. LE needs to have proof of there being a crime In progress or an actual crime has taken place.
I think there isn’t enough public information to throughly examine what happened. I sure hope LE didn’t screw this up!

Obey the laws of the country when you visit a foreign country. As a Canadian I see nothing wrong with walking down the street smoking a joint but I’m not going to do that in the Philippines.
