Trying to decide which bike to buy and looking for recommendations.
I am looking for a short travel trail/ downcountry bike. I'm located in Ontario, Canada. I mostly ride XC, and nothing to extreme, but I'd like something capable of small jumps/drops. I'm coming from a 2004 Trek Fuel 90. I value light weight and climb-ability.

I was initially looking at:
-Ibis ripley, but price for the CF is a bit pricey (6k CAD) https://www.theinsideline.ca/ibis-ripley.html?id=97237489&quantity=1
-Trek Top Fuel 9.7 (4.7k CAD) https://www.trekbikes.com/ca/en_CA/bikes/mountain-bikes/trail-mountain-bikes/top-fuel/top-fuel-9-7/p/35178/?colorCode=black
-Devinci Django Aluminum Fox, GX (3.75k CAD) https://www.devinci.com/en/bikes/mountain/django-gx12s-fox34-portal-blue/

Any (value oriented) advice?

  1. You have a nice budget, and almost every bike makes a bike that fits your description. I’d honestly just build a relationship with your local dealer of whatever brand and find a bike you like. Top Fuel is great, I’ve heard good things about Ripleys. I can’t comment on the Devinci really.

I’d toss a Specialized Epic Evo into the mix.
