When that thing is loaded up and going downhill, a brake is really nice
The question is what you want to transport in the trailer. A beer keg or your children?
Beer keg = no brakes
Children = depends on how much you like them
This is the only allowable circumstance for which you may have a [1] brake
Kids? You’re supposed to fill the trailer up with bottles and cans to return so you can afford your next hit of fent.

I pull my little guy in a trailer on fixed all the time. We have a ton of fun.
As for pulling him brakeless, I quickly realized how dumb that was and added a brake to my bike. Puller a trailer brakeless, whatever. Pulling your kids brakeless, if you mess up you’re gonna live with that forever.
I’ve never been a brakeless rider for many reasons. Have pulled my kiddo in a trailer on my fixed gear though.
Once you get to speed the momentum helps you maintain, but I can’t imagine easily stopping or even slowing down quickly without a brake.
It’d be reckless on behalf of someone that can’t make their own decision to be reckless.
I pull a burley tail wagon with mine on trails with my fixed gear mountain bike. I even do technical trails and it gets tons of wide eyed looks. I only run a front disc brake and my trailer with my dog is 50-60lbs. I run a 33t/20t on a 29er and I only use the front disc brake on aggressive hills.
