I got this exact bike on fb marketplace for $500, wasnt as rusted though

I don’t think it’s a terrible deal or anything, but I’m not sure it’s the right rig for you – for casual cruising id get a flat bar hybrid with wider tires and gearing.

The bike is great for longer distance driving but that doesn’t really tell if 300 is a good price. Check that the frame size suites you (I’ve got 2 of the similar frames with Campa part sets, I drove the a bit too small for me for a decade and then purchased the correct size one for 200 eur about five years ago.) At this price point the condition of the wear items dictate the price of the bike. Good pair of tires and pads with a new chain make 200 bike into a 300 bike.
