I'm looking to make my first foray into good bikes for city trail riding in minnesota mostly paved but probably about 30% gravel. My budget is around 1.5k. I've had my eye on two bikes that are on sale
CO-OP-CYCLES-ADV-2.3-BIKE $1,500
https://www.rei.com/product/190608/co-op-cycles-adv-23-bike
Or
Vaast A/1 GRX 700c $1,300

They both have similar components but the 2.3 has the backing of rei with their return policy and track record. Vaast is a relatively new company with the specialty in "super mag" magnesium alloy frames. The big question mark there seems to be longevity on a new style of frame.
Any thoughts on or help would be massively appreciated!

Are you me? Looking at very similar options so curious to see any feedback you receive here.
There definitely isn’t as much info on Vaast but from what I’ve seen the magnesium used for the frame seems to be well liked. I did find some criticism of the frame dimensions and appearance (not as modern).
I don’t have anywhere nearby to check out the Vaast in person, but if you do these bikes are similar enough that maybe sitting on them will be the deciding factor for you.
