On a 2023 trek checkpoint sl5, the included bontrager seat post. Am I doing this right?
1) Everytime I disassemble this to clean it due it being a gravel bike, the reinstallation takes forever as I need to mess with these barrel tightening nuts. Micro adjustments on the saddle is a royal pain in the ass. Already semi stripped the hardware in some spots
2) Also is it normal that there’s screws essentially pointing up to my nuts? I always wonder, if the saddle were to fail…
Borderline ready to throw this carbon bontrager seatpost away due to the above.

Saddle adjustment should be easy…just loosen the back bolt a bunch, and then tighten or loosen the front to adjust angle. Tighten the back bolt to secure the saddle.
Don’t be so damn OCD when cleaning it. Just get in there with an old toothbrush. No need to disassemble it.
