My 2007 Brodie Devo that I bought used in 2009, it's been sitting in my shed for quite a while now and I've recently got the urge to get it back to riding shape. Let me know if this sounds dumb. I miss it a lot, and am way more mechanically inclined than I was back then..

That’s a lot of great info! Just dipping my toes back into the mountain biking world but I caught the itch the other day watching Red Bull Hardline haha, thank you for the insight! And I cannot wait to ride again
You can service the suspension, but you’ll need a dropper seat post, brakes, wheels, tires, drivetrain and touch points (pedals, grips, seat). Look at the geometry compared to a modern bike and see what makes the most sense, either building it up or buying new.
I’m upgrading a 2014 Rockhopper, more to get back into it like you said. Plus I get to learn a bit about working on bikes while I save up for a new one.
