Planning to buy my first brompton.

Recently used the brompton bike hire (3 speed) to see how my commute is going to work.

It beat me up going up the hills and had to walk a little bit. Left me sweaty af and would like to avoid that before going to work.

Haven’t tried the 6 speed yet but would that solve my woes? Or should I opt for an electric?

A six-speed will likely be enough to get you where you need to go, and you can always reduce the gearing to a 44 tooth chainring while you build up your legs.

The electric will lower your risk of sweating, but you’ll end up paying twice the cost of a non-electric for a product that is way less reliable.
