  1. Go up quarter pipes and try to just roll back far as you can, don’t worry about reverts.

  2. Try to carve less (as little as possible) when you take off so that you retain more forward momentum. Right now you are sending all your momentum sideways by carving so much, so it’s hard to balance and cruise for any length of time. Take off straighter, focus on getting a good hop, and use the turning of your head and shoulders to spin the bike rather than carving, then you’ll land with more balance and enough forward momentum to not auto-cab right away.

    When learning 180s I would do them in parking lots trying to 180 on top of parking lot lines. I’d use the lines as a visual reference to help me land straight (keep body over to top of the bike) and maintain a straight line while riding fakie which helped me learn to not immediately start carving out of fakie. Once you can comfortably maintain a relatively straight line while riding fakie, getting out of it becomes a walk in the park.
