Hi all,
Attempting to install a luggage block on my 2006 frame. The grub screws were slotted and made of plastic, and just completely disintegrated when I tried to torque.
Any tips on how to get them out? Thanks for the help!
I don’t know. Would heating and melting them out work?

The best is likely to bring this to a professional metal worker. For them it should be easy to get this repaired in a way that you to not have a problem in the future.

How hard are they?
Could try either screw extractor (think reverse threaded screw bit that fits into a drill) to unthread them. Or if drill them out and clean up threads with the correct size thread tap.
Worst case take it to a decent bike shop they should be able to rethread them.

You can get damaged screw removal drill bits or you could try putting duct tape over the screw and trying again (the duct tape trick has worked for me with similar screws). Good luck.

If they are plastic, just break them up and dig them.out bit by bit with a sharp point.

Hot flat screwdriver.
