I’m riding a mash ac-3 size L but it’s a bit big for me. I’m 173cm. So I looked for a new fixed gear frame, maybe size 53 or so, that can fit 32c tyres or wider, carbon fork, and not too ugly. I couldn’t find many options. Many fixed gear frames with wide clearence tend to be steel framsets.
The skream ranger has the widest clearance but it’s a bit ugly to me. Ideally I’d want the same mash ac-3 in a smaller size but I can’t find it anywhere. There’s supposedly a mash ac-4 coming out this year but I didn’t want to wait.
Another option would be to get a frame only, maybe a dolan pre cursa, and get a carbon fork with wide clearance. Whiskey or Ritchey. But damn their forks are almost the same price as an entire skream magnum frameset.
It may seem like a downgrade from the ac-3 to this magnum but for me, I’m starting to forego the typical aggressive style already. I just want a comfortable, lightweight, fixed gear market bike lol.
That being said, I can see the difference in quality from the ac-3 to this magnum. I’m a little concerned about the fork steerer because its not smooth and has some ridges. I asked around and the general consensus is that its more of poor workmanship and not so much a weakness in the structure. The packaging of the ac-3 is also slightly better. The dropouts of my magum is a little bent inwards but not too big of a deal. I can see why the ac-3 is more expensive. I’m losing the cool signature smoke design from Mash, the columbus sticker lol, the street cred but aiyah whatever lah now my priority is comfort.
I’ll post again when the full bike is built up 🙂 Maybe skream really is a cheapo fixie brand idk I’m giving them a try

oh and the other parts in the pic:
31.8 seatpost – Aliexpress carbon lol. But it’s the nicer one with the “seamless” design. My previous bike uses 27.2 so I had to get a new seatpost
35c gravelking SS – one of the bigger selling points of this frame is that it fits 35c tyres (soon to be verified lol)
The stock headset and seatclamp is in the ziploc. I think it’s from Neco. Doesn’t really inspire confidence but the next price range would be Ritchey. I can’t find a Ritchey IS42/52 headset. Next would be cane creak, white industries and all these other expensive brands. Ehh I think I’ll just stick to the stock for now….
