  1. $70 is probably slightly more than the retail price in 1965, or $670 in today’s money. It looks to be in excellent condition. These old Chicago Schwinns are quality bikes, almost indestructible, but the downside is that they’re monstrously heavy.

Awesome. The downtube shifters are really cool. I live these bikes. Also the 27″ wheels are good as opposed to the weird Schwinn specific proprietary 26″ sizes from that Era. I’d love to have that bike. Enjoy.

  3. The quality of the old Schwinns is not appreciated by everyone these days, but you can get a 50-60 year old Schwinn with original parts that will still ride great after a simple tune-up. They’re heavy but unless you’re looking to win races it shouldn’t matter too much.

  4. Nice find! Beautiful color.

There are a lot of “tourist” style Schwinn lovers there with great info on how to bring out the best in your new bike.
