I am getting a cold feet about purchasing this bike. It is a Specialized Tarmac SL7 comp. I recently got into cycling and have been looking to upgrade my current aluminum bike.
I have the cash in hand, the local shop is selling the bike for $4000. I am a stingy person and very careful about spending this amount of money. I don’t know if I should keep saving and purchase a S-Works bike next year.
I am currently riding by myself but if I get this new bike, I will give my current aluminum bike to my girlfriend so she can ride too. It would be nice to have a riding partner.
Someone please help me justify my purchase.

Is the price your hangup? You could always look for a deal or find an older model for less
S-works sl8 is 14k so not buying this and saving for more is a big jump. If you are considering an s-works sl8 frame upgrade then you need an electronic groupset. It’s probably more reasonable to spend the 4k and upgrade it slowly over time.
