I'm currently working on my new project and I got the wheels from the workshop today. I bought these Schwalbe 26×1.5 tyres around a month ago. The old tyres on this bike were 26×1 3/8. I've tried everything but it's impossible to fit them on the wheels. Did I miss some detail about the tyres? The 26×1.5 tube fits very neatly

Spicers come in many sizes, likely what you ordered is not what you got.
Basic rule of thumb with tyres is decimal inches are not equal to fractional inches.
For preference look for an ertro number – 622, 574 etc.
In depth answer – modern wheels have one wheel rim and the overall diameter varies depending on the tyre, older ones pick an outer diameter that remains constant and the wheel rim varies depending on tyre thickness
i’ll preface this with tire sizing is dumb
you have the wrong size tires, 26xfraction inches are not the same size as 26xdecimal inches. a 26×1-3/8″ tire goes on a rim with a diameter of 597mm or 590mm (depending on origin of the bike) and 26×1.5 fit on a rim with a diameter of 559mm. I think you need a different size tire, unfortunatly

You have a rim with a 597mm bead-seat diameter and you bought a tire with a 559mm bead-seat diameter.
You have way too cool Spoke Nipples for the tire, so it shriveled in shame. [As you can see](https://www.schwalbetires.com/technology-faq/tire-sizes/) the 26 1/38 (fuck non metric sizes wtf) are a size on their own….
Now remember that 650c is also in this mix
